4/20 is arguably any weed smokers favorite unofficial “holiday.” One of those smokers is cannabis connoisseur Wiz Khalifa who has made it obvious that he’s a fan of the plant in many of his songs and projects. Wiz Khalifa decided to celebrate 4/20 this year with the surprise release of his EP The Saga of Wiz Khalifa. This is the second year in a row Khalifa has decided to release a project on 4/20, last year’s being Fly Times, Vol.1: The Good Fly Young

The Saga of Wiz Khalifa is the second project that Khalifa has put out this year with the fist being Its Only Weed Bro which was released in February. It looks as if the Grammy nominated artist is taking a page out of Kanye West’s book and making all this year’s projects short and to the point with a total of seven tracks on each.

The Saga of Wiz Khalifa features artists such as Megan Thee Stallion, Ty Dolla $ign, Mustard and more. The EP’s lead single is, “Bammer,”  was released on March 9, 2020 and is meant to be Wiz Khalifa’s rendition of the classic San Francisco weed anthem “Don’t Give Me No Bammer” from RBL Posse. On the EP is also “Still Wiz” where Wiz sampled Dr. Dre’s classic “Still Dre”. On the track he talks about his relationship with weed and his luxe lifestyle.

Upon the EP’s release Khalifa will celebrate 4/20 with a 20-minute DJ set on Weedmaps’ “Higher Together: Sessions from Home” live streamed event. Weedmaps, which  supplies several cannabis dispensaries across Illinois, created the event as a place where notable musicians, DJs, comedians could perform exclusive sets from their homes and debut new content via live stream. Artists include Wiz Khalifa, Cam’ron, Billy Ray Cyrus and more.
